Review & Moderation Policy

Our promise

Reviews are the trust engine of Legitail, so we hold them to a higher standard than the rest of the internet. Every published review is attributed to a named, verified person; carries a provenance tier explaining how we verified it; and is subject to a dispute process whose outcomes we publish. We never sell placement in review rankings, and agencies cannot pay to remove a review.

What we publish — and what we don’t

A review is published when it describes a genuine commercial engagement, is written by someone with first-hand involvement, and passes verification. Reviews are held or removed when they are written by competitors, current or former employees, or anyone with an undisclosed conflict of interest; when they were incentivized by the agency beyond a neutral request to review; when they contain profanity, personal data, confidential material, or legal accusations we cannot substantiate; or when the underlying engagement cannot be evidenced.

Agencies can never edit a client’s words. They may publish one public response per review, and every edit to that response is tracked and visible in the response’s history. Negative verified reviews are not removable for being negative — only for breaching this policy.

The three verification tiers

Every review submitted to Legitail declares its provenance, and we label the result on the published review. The three tiers, in ascending order of evidentiary weight:

   Baseline

   The reviewer's identity is confirmed through a work-email domain match with the agency's website, or through their LinkedIn work history. Email-domain matches publish instantly; LinkedIn checks usually clear within hours.

2. 02

   Verified+

   Contract-backed

   The reviewer supplies commercial evidence of the engagement — a signed contract, statement of work, or invoice. Our team inspects the document privately and never publishes it. Verified+ reviews carry the strongest written-evidence badge on the platform.

3. 03

   Gold

   Video-confirmed

   The reviewer confirms the engagement in a short recorded video call with our verification team. This is the highest provenance tier we award, and it anchors an agency's review-integrity score.

An agency’s public review integrity score is the share of its published reviews verified at a high tier (LinkedIn work history, contract evidence, or video confirmation). It cannot be bought, only earned.

Disputes & the public decision log

An agency that believes a review breaches this policy may dispute it. The review is flagged — it remains visible with a dispute notice while under investigation — and an independent Legitail moderator who has no commercial relationship with the agency reviews the evidence from both sides.

We commit to a decision in under 24 hours from the moment a dispute is opened. Every decision — upheld, amended, or removed — is recorded with its reasoning in a public decision log, so buyers can audit not just our reviews but our refereeing. We believe a trust platform that moderates in private has no claim to the word.

Zero tolerance for fake reviews

Submitting, soliciting, or trading fabricated reviews is the one unforgivable offense on Legitail. Agencies caught doing so have the offending reviews removed, their verification tier revoked, and — for repeat or egregious cases — their profile delisted and flagged. Reviewers who misrepresent their identity or engagement are permanently banned. We preserve evidence and cooperate with lawful requests where fraud is involved.
